The 2024 AMCAS® Application Portal is Open
The 2024 AMCAS® application portal is open!
I know that many of you have been eagerly awaiting this announcement from the American Medical College Application Service®. Now you can start uploading your information, transcripts, scores, etc for applications to medical colleges in the United States (and around the world). The task is great but the potential for acceptance to your medical college of choice is so worth the effort.
Your completed application must include two written components: 1) a maximum of 15 experiences (such as employment, extracurricular activities, awards, honors, and publications), and 2) a Personal Comments Essay (in which you highlight your preparedness for and interest in becoming a medical physician).
These are two very different yet equally important components to your application. You need to present carefully crafted narratives about who you are and about what you have achieved and accomplished. These written statements, together with the other submitted materials in your application, will determine your competitiveness as a candidate for second round applications and/or interviews.
So how best can you ensure that these two written components of your application will hit the right notes with the readers and reviewers? What is it that you have written about yourself that will lead the readers and reviewers to score your application higher than those of your fellow competitors?
Here at MD Coaching Service, I can offer you personalized constructive critical feedback on your two written narratives. I have a long history of helping students applying to medical schools in the United States and around the world. My many years of experience as a reader and reviewer of medical school applications have given me a unique insight and perspective as to what makes for great personal (written) narratives.
A few years ago, one of my many successful graduate students, George W., left Canada for his medical education in the United States. I was happy to assist with and vet his AMCAS® application materials. I was very supportive of his decision to seek acceptance to medical schools ‘south of the border’. Now after completing his degree at a Michigan medical school, George is in the last stages of his residency in Cardiology. Read his testimonial here.
Why not contact me and let’s have an initial chat about your AMCAS® application. I am pleased to offer my services to American, Canadian and International students. We can discuss (by video) how best I can assist you in your quest to craft a competitive written application for medical college, stateside or abroad. I offer one-on-one sessions that are tailored to your specific needs – you set the agenda and I promise to meet your expectations as that “extra set of eyes” for your written narratives. Let's work collaboratively to create your competitive application for entry into an American medical college or into one of the many International medical colleges elsewhere in the world in 2024.
